I wanted to get a comfortable mouse (considering my large hand) mostly for gaming and daily use as well. Needless to say that Razer Mamba is too expensive (at least for me) so I thought I would try G9.
Get yours and enjoy. The features of it are very useful and handy.
I am absolutely happy with it and have seen no flaw so far. It is one of the best mouses in the market today.
I was doing research and going to stored feeling different mouses for almost two weeks. I finally narrowed it down to two choices: this G9 and Razer Mamba.
I'm a very picky person and I can't think of any cons to say, well, it could be wireless but it wouldn't have that precision then.
The only reason I switched from the G500 is that I have small children and they seem to have misplaced the device that holds the weights. Do yourself a favor and save a few dollars and buy this product. If your a gamer and love FPS like myself than give it a try It has a great feel and perfect weight adjustment. I just recieved mine in the mail today. All I have left to say is GREAT. I have been a long time user of the G500 and still love that mouse but I have to say I am very impressed overall.
It doesnt have as much as the G500 but sufficient and the overall feel is alot better I would have given it ten stars if there was an option. I just want to say that this is a great product. I had alot of trouble deciding on the G9 and the G9x but after reading a few other reviews the only difference is the dpi setting and alot on the price. So any logitech product that you buy is an excellent product from personal experience.
Microgear scroll wheel is excellent. Interchangable grips are nice. It's hard to imagine someone being disappointed with this product. Great mouse. Extremely sensitive and accurate on every surface I've tried. Weights are more than just a gimmick.
DPI is adustable from 400-3200 DPI and can be set at 4 pre-programed settings that can be toggled from the top of the mouse. I still prefer the Logitech G500, but the G9 does run a close 2nd. But in order to change that setting the mouse needs to be turned over and a button on the bottom needs to be engaged. There are 2 more programmable buttons under the right thumb.
The mouse comes with 2 interchangeable grips. The G9 does not follow the standard mouse shape. Why they have different surface textures I can't begin to imagine. This makes it easy to change on the fly, and with an LED readout you can check your setting at a glance. The slide plates are low drag and movement is precise and easy. No changing on the fly like can be done with the G500. The scroll wheel has in addition to up/downd and push buttons that are programmable, can also rock left and right.
For someone with large hands such as myself it's the first mouse I've used that actually fits comfortably. I find them to be positioned well and not undersized like many available. This mouse also has an adjustable weight system. As I've grown used to it, I find I do like the shape and layout.
The larger (and I mean Larger) grip has a smooth satin finish and is aproxamatly 1/2" wider than the small grip. I love this feature as it makes the mouse feel much more controlable during gaming. These buttons are a bit sensitive however. Overall it is a good mouse, and price wise better than most in its price range.
First thig to catch the eye is the shape. The smaller grip has a textured surface that actually feels better in hand than the large grip. The scroll can also be adjusted from clicks to free spinning.
Then one day I went to use it and it stopped working. Fix the crappy cord and I would easily say its the best mouse I ever had because it was while it still worked. The wires literally fell apart and the cord slipped out most of the way from the the inside of the mouse. The cord. The cheap mouse that came with my computer holds up better then this mouse did.
I have no complaints about it except for one. At first the outer cloth shell of the cord started to fray in a few spots but it didnt bother me because it worked like a champ. I started to look over the mouse and realized that where the cord goes into the inside of mouse was hanging out. It was never dropped and I always babied it since I did spend a lot on it and in the end it just fell apart. I loved this mouse.
I used this mouse an average of 3 hours a day over 7 months. This is from 7 months of off and on use a few hours a night.
